7 Common Website Mistakes That Businesses Make

These are the problems that Tiny Provider have dealt with from previous clients

Number One: Tracking Website Data

Most websites don’t have functions where it allows the business to track where their traffic is coming from. When a client visits a website, the business would have no way to see what region of the world that they are from or what product they looked at. It would be impossible to track how many visits the website would get daily. These websites would lack the tools to track these data or don't have the knowledge. These are very important to a company when it comes to marketing. In order to target the right audience, the business must know who they are advertising towards and without these numbers, it is merely impossible to do so.

Number Two: Inconsistent Branding

Businesses tend to showcase their branding on all platforms. Whether its the website to their social media pages, the company's branding is very important. For the most part, businesses are inconsistent with their branding across platforms. The main purpose or message of the company would vary from social media to the website. By not having it consistent, this can confuse the customers and push them away from the product or service that is being sold.

Number Three: Outdated Website

What is the point of having a website if it is outdated? A website represents the image your company or business so it should always be up to date and grow alongside the main structure. It should reflect the company and showcase the size of the actual business.  When businesses grow they often forget to update their websites as well. This is in regards to the site not being mobile friendly or having expired information. Nowadays everyone has a cellular device. They will most likely be browsing on your website with their phones so by adapting your website and making it mobile friendly, the user experience will dramatically improve. By consistently updating the website with new information and media, this will keep the consumers on top of what the business is doing.

Number Four: Poor Uses of Photos & Videos

So a company has a website...what’s new. The success of driving revenue into a business is crucial and having a website is a major contributor to that. But what goes on the website is what matters the most. Besides boring texts that no one wants to read, businesses should occupy their site with photos and videos relating to their company. Paying for generic stock photos and videos is not a good strategy. Businesses should invest and pay to have their own photos and videos taken so that it can showcase their company internally and have that close connection with the customers.

Number Five: Poor Navigation

Most websites upon first visits are very confusing. They are filled with countless features that are thrown in the face of the visitors. This would then overwhelm them and make them leave the page. If functions are not necessary to the business then take them out. If functions are not as important then do not put them on the front page. Keep the website tidy and easy to navigate so that customers would not have a hard time on it.

Number Six: No Social Media Integrations

If a website is an extension of the business, a reflection of what the company is about then why not direct the customers to learn more about the business. The more they know about it, the easier it is to convince them to buy your products or services right? Most websites lack social media integration. This is the function to link the company’s social media platform to the website and vice versa. By directing traffic back and forth this allows the customers to keep up with the company and its products. With modern marketing and branding, being on social media is the norm. If a company is not taking advantage of the platforms, then they are way behind.

Number Seven: SEO

So a company has a website with updated content and social media integration, what’s next? The next part and probably one of the most important part is the SEO. By having good SEO, a company’s website will appear on the first few pages of a search engine and keywords are searched. By doing so, they allow themselves to be discovered by potential clients and direct more traffic to their site.
